Enhancing Activity & Nutrition - Resources for Communities
"We Can!™ stands for Ways to Enhance Children's Activity & Nutrition. We Can! is a national education program designed for parents and caregivers to help children 8-13 years old stay at a healthy weight.
Parents and caregivers are the primary influencers for this age group. We Can! offers parents and families tips and fun activities to encourage healthy eating, increase physical activity and reduce sedentary or screen time.
It also offers community groups and health professionals resources to implement programs and fun activities for parents and youth in communities around the country.
Four of the National Institutes of Health have come together to bring you We Can!
The materials developed for the We Can! program are easy-to-use and replicable in many settings....
We Can! resources for communities are divided into four categories:
Implementing and Evaluating Your Program, which includes a starter kit for communities and We Can! curricula for parents and youth.
Promoting Your Program, which includes radio PSAs, posters, logos, and resources for media outreach.
Creating Partnerships for Your Program, which includes information that can be used to initiate contact with and educate local organizations.
Starting a We Can! City or County Program, which includes templates to support your city- or county-wide initiative.
Additional Resources for Your Program, which includes a variety of helpful and informative resources for community education."
