Summer Institute 2004: Envisioning a Continuum for Powerful Learning

Our summer training effort has just come to an end. We've had the most incredible few months here at YouthLearn, traveling across the country to work with many of you on developing more active, technology-integrated learning experiences for young people. We visited nine different cities, from Seattle in June to San Francisco two weeks ago, and finished up back here in Boston for a final training. We were really thrilled to learn more about people's programs, help explore their issues, and offer our support. The trainings introduced quite a number of educators to our online community, and we're eager to hear more from these new members about their progress in the coming months.

We want to especially thank our partners in our summer training effort, America Connects and CTCNet. We were also very happy to once again share an intro version of the training at the Department of Education's 21st Century Community Learning Center Program Summer Institute, and it was exciting to see how technology is becoming an important way to extend afterschool learning.

We also wanted to let you all know that we've just posted a final report on the summer efforts, as well as copies of all the hand-outs and our PowerPoint presentation. You can find everything at:

Thanks again to everyone who participated. We'll certainly be keeping you updated as new training opportunities emerge.
